One warning however, this fish, like many schooling fish, is not safe to keep in pairs. The larger fish naturally pick on the smaller fish in any size school, and if there is only one smaller fish he will be chased constantly by the larger fish until he's run to death. In a school of 5 or 6 individuals, the larger fish spreads his aggression out amongst the others, and the smallest fish is protected by the fact that most of the larger fish are at any given time being chased around or doing some chasing. Like many schooling fish, chromis must be kept as an individual, or as a small group.
